Day 13 - Sat. May 10 - Santo Domingo de la Calzada to Belorado - 14.2 miles

Another beautiful morning greeted us. It seemed a little cooler but our lightweight wind jackets were all we needed. We missed seeing an arrow and a woman came out of her house and pointed for us to turn around.

Soon we were out of town and I turned around to take this sunrise pic above.

We stopped at a bar in Granon for a coke and croissant. That's Stoney looking at the guide book. We talked with a woman from Colorado during this short stop. She was walking with a friend.

Lots of green in the fields and lots of dust on the road. It got hot today along towards 11:30 am and we may begin walking earlier because the heat zaps us.

We walked near a major highway for most of the day. I think Stoney enjoyed looking at the cars. Some honked. I wonder if that was a Buen Camino. Saw some tiny race cars being transported and Stoney asked what day it was. I replied Friday and he said it was probably Saturday because the cars were going to race. He was right. We have lost track of the days...

There is always another church.

These people have a grape vine growing on their house.

We are at Hotel Jacobea tonight. There was a line of people at noon to check into the local albergue. We were happy to have a reservation here.

We have to show one of our passports each time we stay the night. We asked why one time and were told the local police require it.

Going to Mass tonight and looking forward to a good night of rest. We have planned a shorter day tomorrow.
