We were pleased to leave this lovely place on another clear cool beautiful morning about 6:40 am. Lots of people were in front of us and in back of us. There were always other pilgrims in our sight the entire day.
Many stopped to look back at Najera and take a picot he sunrise.
We were back in the fields again with much wheat and some grape vines but not many olives. We walked on 'Jeff Davis' (a flat street in our town) for most of the day. We had a climb coming out of Najera and a good climb up to Ciruena which seemed like a new ghost town. We only saw one woman out walking. In the distance we could see snow covered mountains.
I heard a man singing in front of me and met Carl from Maryland. After reading a book about The Way, he decided to see if he would like the experience. Last year he walked from Portugal to Santiago and loved it.
This year he is walking the Camino Frances from St. Jean Pied de Port to Sagahun - 1/2 way to Santiago.

We arrived here about 11:45 am and found our way to Hospederia Cisterciense, a modern hostel run by the Cistercian nuns. We have a very quiet and nice room.
After showering, I rested for a couple of hours and then Stoney took me on a tour of the town (population 7,000).
We will attend Mass with the nuns at 7 pm in the Capilla on the same floor of our room but down a couple of very long stretches of community living rooms.
I am very tired and expect to go to bed very early. We have a 14 mile day tomorrow. God willing ....
NOTE: I was so very tired that we actually missed going into the church in this town where a miracle is remembered by housing chickens in the church or maybe it was closed. Check it out here. Maybe the Camino will beckon us back before we get too old and we'll be sure to visit this church.
