Day 24, Wed., May 21- Day off in Leon

I slept in til 7:30 am; it was wonderful. We had a tortilla con queso en plata for breakfast and cafe con leche for me and cafe Americano for Stoney. We asked a young man waiting for the bus for a recommendation and he said his favorite was just down the street. We walked to San Isidoro Church. There is 24 hour adoration and we prayed for awhile. I took a pic of thr beautiful sanctuary but can't find it. We had planned to return for 7:30 mass but it is raining, cold and very windy and quite a walk. I'm disappointed.

Next stop was the Cathedral. Wow!! We had a little telephone recording that guided us. Very interesting.

We went to the Claustro museum and chapel next door.

Next stop San Marcos. We arrived close to the end of Mass.

The Parador Hotel is part of this structure.

Stopped in a bakery for some ice cream and nourishment for tomorrow (2 small ham and cheese quiches and a round cake pastry).
Immaculada park area.
Little Italian pizza place for a late lunch/early dinner.

Tiramisu afterwards; we shared.
This little cutie is 8 yrs. old and helps her dad. She took our order and figured the bill.

It was a wonderful rest day in Leon. I loved this city.
